Are you looking to learn about the haulage and freight industry in hands on environment?
Do you love trucks, motor vehicles, forklifts and HGVs and all things mechanical?

If so, you could be just the person to work as the Transport & Warehouse Co-Ordinator based at my client’s substantial transport & warehouse facility just outside Dover.
The role includes:
- Managing excellent communication with driving staff operations staff who are based at a different location
- Assisting and supervising shipments in and out of the Warehouse
- Conducting a daily stocktake of shipments in the Warehouse
- Collating and distributing a daily Trailer location report
- Participating in the weekend rota shared with the Transport Manager and Warehouse Manager
- Assisting with the preparation of drivers’ timesheets and expenses.
- Assisting with the preparation of Tachograph reports for Drivers to complete.
- Daily interaction with on-site Workshop to ensure that Inspections and Repairs are completed and defects efficiently dealt with
- Vehicle inspections, reviewing damage / defect reports
- Assisting with the preparation of “offload” sheets for Warehouse staff and Drivers Worksheet.
- Deputising for the Transport Manager and Warehouse / Site Manager as and when required
You’ll need:
- Excellent communication skills (Written & Verbal)
- A confident personality
- A professional positive and helpful attitude to work colleagues and Suppliers.
- IT literacy
- Experience of working for a Transport company or warehouse would be ideal
- To be presentable, energetic and enthusiastic
- Strong organisational skills with an excellent memory
- A forklift licence would be preferable
